LowCoast Sports Association Files Lawsuit Over Origin of Pickleball Training System
Dill Dinkers Marketed Program as “Visionary”; LowCoast Says It Was Already Built.
HILTON HEAD, SC, UNITED STATES, April 1, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- LowCoast Sports Association, a Hilton Head–based nonprofit pickleball organization, has filed a civil lawsuit against Dill Dinkers alleging false designation of origin, false advertising, and unfair competition related to a structured player development program.
Civil Action No. 2025-CP-07-01630 is filed in the Court of Common Pleas, Beaufort County, South Carolina.
LowCoast developed its Road to™ progression system over two years, offering structured skill-building tracks from beginner through tournament-level play. The program was designed to be accessible and affordable, and was delivered on courts where Dill Dinkers provided facility space.
Following the conclusion of that relationship, LowCoast contends that Dill Dinkers launched a substantially similar program under its own branding. After LowCoast issued a cease-and-desist letter, the program’s name was changed from “Road to” to “Path to.” The program continues to operate.
The lawsuit seeks damages, injunctive relief, and recovery of profits.
“Our Road to system was built on court, with real players, over time,” said Michelle Ruby, Director of LowCoast Sports Association. “We are pursuing this matter through the appropriate legal channels.”
LowCoast Sports Association continues to operate and expand its Road to™ progression system, now offered as part of its PickleFit™ training model — combining in-studio core training with on-court skill development. The organization is actively seeking partnerships with fitness facilities and pickleball clubs.
Facilities and clubs interested in partnership opportunities may contact LowCoast directly.
